Provincial Offenses

 

Provincial offences refer to offences that have been committed under the Ontario Provincial offences Act.   We provide assistance in defending clients that have been charged with a Provincial offence.  Please keep in mind that a Provincial offence is a non criminal charge.  The charges are usually fines issued by enforcement officers.  Fines can be severe and penalties can be series.

Summary convictions are minor criminal matters that have a maximum penalty of $2,000 and/or a sentence of up to 6 months.  If a clients conviction falls outside our scope of practice, we  a criminal lawyer who is onsite.
